Anna came to our shelter as a pup having a fracture in her right foreleg. As is the case, she was a victim of an accident case. When she came to us, she was very weak. She had been lying on the road for someone to take pity on her and help her out. Fortunately she was one of the lucky ones. Someone DID see her and reached out to help her. She was brought to our shelter where medical treatment started. After a day she started responding well. Her leg was then plastered and for the next 21 days she was under critical care. Now she walks without any problem and is friendly with everyone.
In the beginning she was quite scared of human touch...one can easily understand her fear of the humans. Some take care of the dogs on the streets and some kick and beat them up. Most probably she didnt have a good experience with humans. But today she is a completely different dog. She is very friendly and loving. Hopefully she will find someone who would adopt her or sponsor her...

This is how PFA Agra is making a difference in the lives of all the injured stray animals out on the streets, one animal at a time. We are the only shelter here in Agra doing something for stray animals. Unfortunately we are running very low on funds and are unable to keep this platform alive beyond April . We have recently launched a campaign called Circle of Compassion as an urgent call to animal lovers to help us out. We only need 1200 people who can give long term unwavering support by giving a yearly donation of INR 2000 (~30 euros) or more...not a lot but if you see the positive effect it can have on our animals future, the outcome is PRICELESS! Thousands of voiceless in need are heard, and the Circle of Compassion, an umbrella for the protection of the stray animals, is formed!! THIS is the essence of this campaign..THIS is the essence of our organisation..

This railway dog had retired from his services and it had only two options left. Either be euthanised or be accepted by the shelter. This is unfotunately the fate of all the railway dogs after their unconditional services to humanity. According to the law, the keeper cannot adopt the dog directly from the railways, even if he so desires. But in this case, the keeper of this dog didn't want to give up on him. So he approached us. He requested us if we can accept this dog in the shelter. And once the dog belongs to the shelter, the shelter has the authority to give away the dog for adoption. Defintely we accepted the dog, and then we immediately gave him away for adoption to his keeper. Happy ending for both the keeper and the dog :-D
