On the 6th of March a visitor to PFA Agra, Mr. Prateek Singh, a resident of H3 Lawyer's Colony brought with him 3 pups - 2 males and a female. They were of about 15 days old. Their mother had died in an accident and these helpless angels were left to the mercy of the elements. This good Samaritan brought them to us. 2 of the pups died before we could give them a chance of life. The third was a fighter. It clung to life tenaciously. Katherine,  the Dutch volunteer became the foster mother. She made a small cloth cradle and strung it to her chest and carried it everywhere she went. She very meticulously fed it powdered milk at regular intervals. However she was worried that her date of departure to Holland was fast approaching. What would happen to the little fighter....???

I have a small cottage very near the shelter.  So, I decided to adopt him and keep him with my caretaker's granddaughter Sadhana. She was delighted to have him and she became the new foster mother. Now she and Sikander are inseparable. He has become the play companion and life goes on...

PFA Agra invites its readers to share their stories (in not more than 350-400 words) of close encounters with animals that changed their lives in a positive way. It would be good if you could send pictures also. The pictures should be sent as separate attachments in the email. Please do not embed them in the word document.

A page from the life of PFA Agra
  • Katherine, the girl from Holland, who had come here to do volunteer work has finally left after a stay of 4 months at the shelter. She was a big help.
  • More volunteers are expected from Holland because Carolien from World Foundation of Animals has adopted PFA AGRA and is doing all she can to help it
  • In the line of maintenance and upkeep, the small animal shed and ABC ward at PFA AGRA has been tiled.
  • PFA Agra has hired a new doctor. He has been given accomodation at the shelter and now we have 24 hrs medical help at the shelter itself.

How YOU can help us
  • Forwarding our e-Newsletter to people who care for animals
  • Asking people to subscribe to our e-Newsletter either by sending us a mail directly or via our website (http://www.pfa-agra.org/e-newsletter)
  • Collecting a small monthly donation in your locality from people who want to donate
  • Forwarding our e-Newsletter to organisations in your area who donate for the cause of animals
  • Telling people about our organisation
  • Inviting people to look at our website (www.pfa-agra.org)
  • Sending us a list of people who are willing to donate INR 150 - 600 (~2.5-10 euros) per month. Even if we have 400 people willing to donate INR 1800 per year (~30 euros per year) at the rate of INR 150 per month (~2.50 euros per month), majority of our expenditure in the shelter will be met.
