One night, a beautiful bitch with her newly born five pups, was sleeping on the side of the road. Suddenly, a speeding tempo, passing through a very rough road to Kailash Vihar, struck the bitch. The bitch died at the spot. The unknown tempo driver ran away leaving the pups with their dead mother. The innocent infants were unaware of the calamity that had struck them. They had lost their loving mother. The next day in the morning, Mr. Raj Kumar, resident of Kailash Vihar saw the dead bitch lying on the road side. Her 5 pups, which were 10 days old, were weeping and crying. Since they were only 10 days old, their eyes were still not open. Mr. Kumar felt sad seeing this site. He rushed up to PFA Agra and requested us to provide shelter. PFA personnel immediately went and brought the pups to the shelter. They were immediately fed with milk and kept in I.C.U. Now they are a happy playful bunch playing with each other. It is highly stress relieving to watch these pretty pups play.

Unfortunately 2 out of the 5 pups died due to the severe cold in spite of our intense care. But the thought that they were cared for in a shelter and not left on the streets brings us some satisfaction.

Our organization is always in dire need of funds. Due to paucity of funds a lot of our energies get diverted towards raising money for the day to day running of the shelter. We are running short of staff as we don't have money to pay the salaries for more people. Our shelter is running on less than bare minimum staff. We appeal to all Animal Lovers worldwide to put in their share for a noble cause and help us help the animals who are in need of a helping and caring hand.
