The year that WAS...

As we usher into the year 2013, I would like to wish you good health and propserity. As you all know by now, PFA Agra always stands firm on its purpose of helping stray animals. Whether it is an accident case, or an abandoned dog, or a case of cruelty or any other situation, the doors of PFA Agra are always open for these suffering animals. No matter what kind of animal it is, we try to do as much as possible within our means, to reach out to them and help them. This is proven by the fact that last year alone we treated 8550 number of animals. PFA shelter houses close to around 105 animals. Apart from our main work of treating injured stray animals, we also did 218 ABC operations. All this is possible because of kind donations from sensitive people like you. These animals need you and together we can help THEM. Please don't forget to donate to PFA Agra in this new year also. IN THE YEAR 2012
  • we treated 8550 animals
  • we conducted 218 ABC operations
  • we organised 13 camps for giving anti-rabies injections to street dogs. Aoround 90 dogs were given these injections.
  • 5 dogs were given for adoption. Unfortunately this number is quite low due to the fact that Indians want to adopt pedigreed dogs instead of street dogs
ACHIEVEMENTS
  • We were able to construct a monkey ward and a dog hostel in our shelter
  • We have signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Nagar Nigam to do ABC operations. We have received the first installment from them.
  • We were instrumental in signing up an agreement with Stichting Werelddieren in Arhem, wherein Dutch students interested in doing their internship in India can do so here at the shelter. PFA Agra is now registered with Aequor in Netherlands.
OUR HEARTFELT THANKS TO:
  • Shri H.K Dua for his grant which enabled us to to complete the monkey ward and the dog hostel
  • Messrs Bajaj and Maneka Gandhi for the Tempo (a small 3 wheeler) donated to us for the use of transporting small animals to and from the shelter
  • Messrs Blue Star for donating a deep freezer
  • Local Jain Communnity for donating PFA food for animals for a month. They have also promised us to sponsor a bird ward
  • Sri Gulzar for single handedly dealing with authorities to stop the use of elephants in Ram Barat (a procession held in honor of God Ram)
  • Nishka Bajaj for sponsoring two old blind dogs - Pompom and Rani (unfortunately Rani died recently)

And last but not the least, we fondly remember our dear Tuffy, Bruno, Rani and Julie who are now no more with us...
